That's So Lit

Brand Identity

Brief:

I was assigned to create a toy business where toys would not be sold out of a store but instead a truck. I would need to come up with the name, the type of toys sold and the location.

Ideation:

I decided to design a toy truck with a twist.  To begin, one side of the truck will sell glow/light up toys for the kids while the next side sold glowing non & alcoholic beverages for the adults. Customers can also enjoy wi the truck at night when you can see our toys and drinks light up the night sky.

Brand Logo Sketches

After thinking about different names for my toy truck, i settled on "That's So Lit" with the tagline Kids Play. Adults Sip. I wanted to create a logo that matched the name by exploring ways to incorporate a universal toy (bear) allow with a wine glass. Take a look!

After which, I choose 3 of my most successful that could represent both the children and adult audience. This included a type base, image base and a combination of both type and imagery.

Thought process:

Color Palette

When thinking about the color palette of each of my designs, I try to ensure that colors I choose have a connection to the brand itself. When you think about it, blue would represent imagination and inspiration whilst orange would represent the joy and enthusiasm of the kids.

Items Sketches

For the branding items, I creating several different options for the bags, A4 frame, employees attire and even items tags. I used abstract shapes such as triangles, lines and circles as a way to represent fun movement and excitement.

To create the digital roughs, I combined multiple of the designs to make it unique design for each. For the bag, I wanted to make it stand out by incorporating the handles and the lights as one. Whilst the tags are 3 in one with the top being the logo, the middle an organic shape and the back with the information.

Cark Deck

Deisgn Brief

Apart of our project, we were assigned to design a deck of cards. This deck of cards could be like the original set of cards with your design or it could be educational or related to your truck.

Ideation:

I decided to create a deck of cards for my adults. I call it "A Cocktails Guardian", which is a card deck made of 24 cards.  On each card, are different recipes for delicious alcohol beverages.

The front of each card, I wanted to present the name along with a design aspect from the back of the card such as an abstract shape or an alcohol cup.

I was able to apply the color to both the name as well as the liquor inside the cup to show a sense of coordination. I ensured that each card was different as way to influence them to look through all of the cards.

As for the front of the cards, I decided to go with a red and black base color to show mystery and a bit of danger.  I feel as though it would compliment the drinks and what the power it has over people.

Final thoughts:

Mockup

That's So Lit was overall created to be a toy truck whilst both catering to our adult and kids audience. Scroll down to enjoy the overall concept of the design and watch how I try to ensure that everything remains consistent with one another.
